Eliza Dickinson

Master of Social Work Student Intern

As a clinical social work student, my primary goal is to empower clients by assisting them in recognizing their strengths, and fostering a sense of confidence. My approach is rooted in empathy, active listening, and self discovery.  I promote the acceptance of oneself, others, and life circumstances to assist clients in recognizing where their own power lies. I believe this is best achieved by creating a safe environment in which myself and my clients can express ourselves freely and openly. I also pay particular attention to developing clients' awareness of their patterns of thinking and behavior, as well as growing awareness of larger social movements and forces. Holistic healing that encompasses physical, emotional, social, mental, and spiritual aspects of well-being is central to my approach. I have gained valuable experience in residential treatment centers for those struggling with chemical dependency and eating disorders. There, I witnessed the strength and resilience that is inherent to all people. When this strength is recognized, fostered, and built upon, people meet their goals and create new ways of living. If you would like to address depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship struggles, family problems, new challenges, self-defeating patterns, addiction, self esteem issues, disordered eating, or any other struggles, please take the first step and schedule a session. I believe that only a small change is necessary to begin a new journey.

As a student therapist, Eliza works under the supervision of a licensed professional to ensure the highest quality of care for her clients.
