Specializations:
-
Life Transitions: I have extensive experience supporting individuals and families navigating significant life changes, such as death, divorce, relocation, or career shifts as well as more specific aging related family dynamics such as parental role reversal, caretaking and role adjustments with adult children. My goal is to help clients develop coping strategies, build resilience, and find meaning and applicable resources to assist in adjusting to their new circumstances.
-
Families: I believe that family dynamics and a well rounded support system play a crucial role in an individual's mental health. I work with families to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships, ultimately promoting a more harmonious and supportive environment.
-
Children: As a seasoned therapist, I have a deep understanding of the unique challenges children face. I use play therapy, art therapy, and other child-centered approaches to help children express themselves, build self-esteem, and develop healthy coping mechanisms.
-
Boundary Work: Establishing and maintaining healthy boundaries is essential for emotional well-being. I work with clients to identify and set realistic boundaries, enabling them to prioritize their own needs and maintain healthy relationships.
-
Anxiety and Depression: I have extensive experience supporting individuals struggling with anxiety and depression. My approach focuses on building coping skills, reframing negative thought patterns, and promoting self-compassion to help clients manage their symptoms and improve their overall mental health.
Modalities:
-
Humanistic: I believe that individuals have the capacity for self-actualization and personal growth. My humanistic approach emphasizes empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard to create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment.
-
Strength-Based: I focus on identifying and building upon clients' strengths, rather than solely addressing deficits. This approach helps individuals develop a more positive self-image and fosters resilience.
-
Solution-Focused: I work collaboratively with clients to identify and build upon their strengths, skills, and resources. This solution-focused approach helps individuals develop practical strategies to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
