The average penis is 5.16 inches and 4.59 inches in girth (erect). However, about 80% of men believe theirs is smaller than average. It seems mathematically impossible that so many men actually have a "smaller than average" penis. There is actually a correlation between porn watching and this belief because the mainstream adult entertainment industry hires actors with bigger-than-average penises.
Those that don't recognize the possible bias involved in this process, all in the good name of entertainment, may take this as a signal of their sexual - and often very personal- inadequacy. A perceived inability to satisfy a partner and/or a drive to prove themselves to others by treating new partners as conquests that show their prowess.
If there is one thing that holds true for all when it comes to sexuality is this: no one-size fits all. The real question here is: does size matter to you?
What if it does?
I'd start by exploring why size matters to you and/or your partner(s). Is it because you are feeling it doesn't "measure up"? Is there a preference for sensations that can't be attained because of the size? There are plenty of toys and techniques that can help if that's the case. Rings and extenders are great examples. What if it is too big? Penis bumpers can be great tools to help with this! It is a matter of exploring where the issue is coming from and experimenting with different solutions; welcoming pleasure in varied ways.
So, my question to penis owners and their lovers is, does size matter to you?
